Making a difference in Blount County and beyond!
The Isaiah 58 Project started as an outreach ministry of the RIO Network of Churches in January of 2010. The purpose was to address the growing need for food in our community.
Research has estimated that over 4,000 children go to bed hungry every night here in Blount County. Since then we have partnered with several area churches and businesses to fight the war on hunger.
Together we have distributed 1.2 million pounds of food to 25,000 families and we are always looking for more partners to join with us in this very important endeavor.
Please feel free to call us if you or your church has any questions. Thanks for your support!

What We Do
One of the primary volunteer opportunities with the Isaiah 58 Project is to prepare food boxes for distribution. Three to four times a month volunteers are needed to unload the food, build the food boxes and load them into the delivery trucks. Dates and times for boxing are available on the Isaiah 58 Calendar.
Once a month we have a team of volunteers that deliver food boxes to widows, shut-ins and to local housing projects.
We also set up distribution lines one to three times a month at area schools, businesses and churches. Distribution times and locations are advertised in the Maryville Daily Times.
We have a team of volunteers that respond to disasters both locally and at the national level.
We have partnerships with Operation Compassion and with God’s Pit Crew to provide immediate humanitarian aid and long term recovery.
Food For Kids
Isaiah 58 currently is a distribution location for 10 local schools receiving food from Second Harvest Food for Kids program. This program provides food to send home with the children every Friday throughout the school year. Many of these children would have nothing to eat.
We need volunteers every 6 to 8 weeks to help package and distribute the food to the schools.
